Luleå University of Technology (LTU) has strong growth with world-leading competence in several research areas. Our scientific and artistic research and education are conducted closely with international, national and regional companies, public actors and leading universities.
The Luleå University of Technology has a total turnover of SEK 1.9 billion annually. Currently, LTU has more than 1800 employees and more than 17500 students. LTU is committed to shaping the future through innovative education and ground-breaking research results.
Role of INL in the HEDAsupercap project:
The research subject, Chemistry of Interfaces at LTU, is one of the partners in the project and participates in different work packages. LTU will develop novel classes of non-flammable and fluorine-free ionic liquid-based electrolytes with enlarged operational voltage windows. Ionic liquids (ILs) are salts solely made of cations and anions with a unique combination of properties. They are non-flammable, have negligible vapour pressure, display high chemical and thermal stabilities, and have inherent high ionic conductivity and wide electrochemical stability windows.
Several characterization techniques include multinuclear NMR spectroscopy (solution-state, solid-state, and ion diffusion), FTIR and Raman spectroscopy, thermal analysis (TGA and DSC), impedance spectroscopy, electrochemistry and supercapacitor testings will be employed.
